Summary

Whether we like it or not, we live in a world ruled by conflict and fierce competition, a world that requires us to always be alert and to constantly to take action。 If we are not careful, if we don't react in time to the challenges given to us, if we let others control and make decisions for us, we are lost。 This quick guide takes us back to the basic ideas of the controversial yet indispensable book by Robert Greene, "The 48 Laws of Power," which has been read by millions of people worldwide。 Not only is it a reflection on power, but it is also a practical instrument for those who wish to pave their own way toward success。 Based on historical ideas and influential personalities and drawing on actual cases, Greene reveals the keys to achieve, conquer, and defend power。

This was not the personal growth book I was expecting。 But, I still find value in some of these laws and take what I need to a certain degree to feel a sense of autonomy in my own life。 I also find this as a useful tool to recognize deceptive qualities in others。 I think this concise version is perfect for someone like me, who’s searching for some nuggets of wisdom to exercise in their own life。I give this 4 ⭐️

Gud one with slightly focusing on negative elements

Very solid series of rules based not on generic "self-improvement" statements, but on solid time honored recurring themes and teachings, even with a necessary harshness。My only critique would be how some occasional rules feel as though they might contradict one another in principle, making it a bit more difficult to take the teachings onboard and apply them to real life situations。 Very solid series of rules based not on generic "self-improvement" statements, but on solid time honored recurring themes and teachings, even with a necessary harshness。My only critique would be how some occasional rules feel as though they might contradict one another in principle, making it a bit more difficult to take the teachings onboard and apply them to real life situations。 。。。more

This is truly a great and interesting non-fiction book。 There are so many interesting stories from history within this。 Throughout, I thought that many of the laws were contradicting each other - but brilliantly, this fact was even picked up in the final law which is all about flexibility and formlessness。 This book will definitely stay with me for a while and has already influenced me quite a bit; I keep quoting from it。 It is truly applicable to modern life, especially in work contexts。(Also, This is truly a great and interesting non-fiction book。 There are so many interesting stories from history within this。 Throughout, I thought that many of the laws were contradicting each other - but brilliantly, this fact was even picked up in the final law which is all about flexibility and formlessness。 This book will definitely stay with me for a while and has already influenced me quite a bit; I keep quoting from it。 It is truly applicable to modern life, especially in work contexts。(Also, my first audio book I "read"!) 。。。more

I see why people would say it’s an evil book。 I don’t think it’s evil, I think it explains and shows all the human characteristics and motivations。 I could see myself in some laws and recognise other people。 It all comes down to use using people for our own good and status。 I liked the idea of this book but didn’t find it interesting to read。 Really had to force myself to get through it。

"Aniquila a tus enemigos"。Algunas leyes son cosas de perogrullo, otras no tienen sentido y otras se contradicen。 A ratos te ríes, pero da un poco de vergüencita。 "Aniquila a tus enemigos"。Algunas leyes son cosas de perogrullo, otras no tienen sentido y otras se contradicen。 A ratos te ríes, pero da un poco de vergüencita。 。。。more

Beautiful comparisons and real life examples of power for those who seek it and those who don’t。

Reading the title of each law hits you to the core of established values, however each law has a subtle message。 Be open to the idea, and the laws are powerful tools to navigate the future ahead by choosing your laws wisely。Truly a master class book!

Very useful version of the extended one。 The advices are all really insightful, great tips, especially for applying in work relationships。 Some things needed to be filtered out, in my opinion。。。 but still a good book。

Evil manipulators bible with a problematic world view and horrible advices that only feed the ego。

Got some unethical stuff here, but definitely worth reading。

Great book 📚 not for everyone

A relevant read now that the National Elections are near。 I keep comparing Leni and Marcos with each rule I read, and I feel like Marcos has more power。 It makes me wonder if he’s read this already。

Although a fun read it was really forgettable。 Requires a few readthroughs。

i liked the idea of this book and how it delivered the rules of power in an amoral point of view, which gives you the raw "rules" that you can use in your own way, which some people might see as extreme or psycho, but i personally enjoyed it。it is one out of the ordinary book, you will find harsh truths in it and it can really make you a more powerful person。the main reason i am giving it this rating is because i felt it was a bit too concise, the only regret i have is not reading the standard v i liked the idea of this book and how it delivered the rules of power in an amoral point of view, which gives you the raw "rules" that you can use in your own way, which some people might see as extreme or psycho, but i personally enjoyed it。it is one out of the ordinary book, you will find harsh truths in it and it can really make you a more powerful person。the main reason i am giving it this rating is because i felt it was a bit too concise, the only regret i have is not reading the standard version。3。4/5 。。。more

I like literally 1 or 2 laws and absolutely disagree with more than half of this book。 If you think about it in a very open mind maybe you can pick up some ideas。 But the rest of the book is about being a bad person basically。

Loved the concise version。 Didn’t feel like it was missing something。 Some laws were very obvious but I like that the author always gave an example from world history。

Ugly book, whoever finds this to be beautiful probably needs more love in his life

Vieles war selbstverständlich。 Vor allem aber hätte ich gerne Beispiele für die Jetztzeit gehabt, nicht immer nur wie man sich gegenüber Königen und Generälen verhalten solle。

But on the other hand seeking to be powerful perhaps requires you to act as such。。 and if you truly look at it, one must seek to be powerful because living in this life does entail you to be sharp and aware of your environment。 Having a little bit of power gets you places where being weak does not。 In order to be seen as a human, as an individual, who has a wholesome existence؛ one cannot be naive and too good cause people will for sure take you for granted and think of you as an idiot who’s words and being has no value。 It’s truly sad and crushing that that’s the way the world works。。 (that being said I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be good。 You should but you should pick your people carefully) I see these rules as rules to live by in communities where jealousy and enemies might be lurking close by。 Where competition cannot be averted。 Calling them enemies might be a little bit too much but ill willed humans who wish you harm surround you in every corner。 you don’t have to have enemies per se but haters, competitors and envious individuals who would delightfully wanna bring you down are enough enemies to have。。 I’ve realised through reading this book that I possessed power I did not know I had and did not know how I had it。。 very strategically informative 。。。more
